The Credentials granted by the International Association of ESD Professionals (IAESDP) are globally recognized certifications that demonstrate an individual’s competence and professionalism in the ESD field.
Achieving a credential highlights your commitment to ESD principles, social change, violence prevention, and ethical practice. It signals to potential employers and collaborators that you uphold the highest professional standards in ESD instruction and advocacy.
Currently the IAESDP offers two credentials:
The Association recognizes that ESD professionals come from diverse backgrounds, with varying skills, knowledge, and cultural perspectives. While no specific course of study or duration of experience is required to apply for any credentialing exam, candidates are encouraged to have a clear understanding of ESD principles and practices, typically gained through formal education and teaching experience.
You are a newly certified ESD instructor, have recently completed a training course, and/or have little to no teaching experience, you are likely ready to take the ESD Associate Exam.
You have been teaching and training for at least two years, have a clear understanding of ESD principles and practices, have some sort of ESD education, and have experience teaching ESD to groups, you are likely ready to take the ESD Professional Exam.
You are a martial arts instructor or other ESD-aligned education provider who teaches with empowerment and trauma-informed methods, select the option which best fits with your experience level.
